Although it offers less TV stations than some of the other software out there, the software is way better than it's competitors. There's a number of ways to sort channels and you can also bookmark your favourite stations.

| What does this software do? | PCTV4Me is downloadable software that lets you watch TV stations on any desktop or laptop computer. It does not require any hardware other than what you have now. After installing and running PCTV4ME you get a list of national and international TV stations you can watch. Playing TV stations you like the sound of opens them up in a video player, complete with video and sound. |
| Buying notes | The thing that grabbed me straight away was that this is a free download. Everyone loves a freebie, especially me. The problem is that you can only listen to radio stations on the free version. So I jumped in and bought the $39.95 version which includes free channel updates indefintely. |
| First impressions | The software downloads in the blink of an eye on my connection (it's only around 500kb in size). Great. When you install it, there's a very fast installation process and then the software is up and running. The interface is bright, fun and much better than some of the others I've tested. And this does make a difference! Who wants to stare at a bland, boring interface. This is entertainment. And I like the whole experience to be fun damn it! |
| What I liked | Lots of ways to sort & manage stations
As with the majority of packages I've tested, you're confronted with a large number of stations that you can watch. There's both TV and radio stations available here. The good news is that there's a number of very useful ways you can organize and find your stations:
You can also combine your criteria. For example, you can choose to view music channels from the UK. This is again a great way to organize your channels. A way to store favourite channels One of the strongest features about PVTV4Me is it's ability to place channels into favourites. This is done by viewing a channel and then clicking the Add To Favorites button. It's so easy to do and it makes it much easier to find the stuff you really enjoy watching. You can then cllick 'Show favorite channels only' from the main screen and get fast access to them. Quality of each video clearly listed You also get to see the 'speed' of each channel, which is represented with a nice easy bar beside each station. This is important because the ones with the larger bar here will run faster and look better. |
| What I didn't like | Not all channels worked
As with every other Satellite TV package I've tried, not all of the channels worked. If this happens, you get an error message and then just go back and choose another channel to watch. This is a little frustrating. The good news here is that you can report a broken channel with a handy button on the interface - a really nice feature. Feels like a lot less channels than other packages Even though there's some 600+ TV channels to watch, the software feels a little 'thin' compared to the other tools I've tried (such as Satellite TV For PC). I also couldn't find some of the stations I really liked from the afore mentioned software. I think if they could maybe double the number of stations, this tool would really come into it's own. Not all channels in the correct category You will find some odd things like news stations in the music category and other station weirdness. I would definitely spend some time checking out as many channels as you can, regardless of the category. This was a shame because, as I mentioned earlier, one of the things I liked was the way you could sort the channels. |

| The verdict | This is a pretty good bit of software for watching TV on a PC. The interface and the way you can sort channels is cleverly done and easy enough to use. If you're not bothered about having a VAST list of stations to watch, then take a look at this tool. Personally I'd definitely get Online TV Network instead though. It's the same price and you get 10 times as much for your money. |
